Casey’s Tactics Vol 1

Finally, we are able to offer a great hand-bound reproduction of Casey\’s Tactics, Volume 1, companion to Volumes 2 and 3. Volume 1 includes the School of the Soldier, School of the Company, Instructions for Skirmishers, and Drum and Bugle calls. This small but comprehensive was officially declared as THE manual for the Union Armies in 1862. In Kautz\’s Company Clerk, he mentions 5 books that were issued to officers. Those 5 were Tactics (Casey\’s), Regulations, Bayonet Exercise, Outpost, and Target Practice. We currently offer four of these, and eventually hope to have all 5 in production. This outstanding work contains 280 pages and 31 plates (illustrations). A must have for any Union officer, now available once again.
