Novel - Maum Guinea was offered for sale on December 10, 1861 as a special holiday edition "double" dime novel for 20 cents. It is the story of Louisiana plantation life among the slaves before the Civil War. According to some it was very popular, and supposedly was one of Abraham Lincoln's favorite reads. Our is a faithful reprint of this 253-page novel. In fact our reprint is carried in the collection at Northern Illinois University, home of one of the largest collections of Beadle's Dime Novels.
