Anthony Benezet was a Huguenot immigrant to America. He settled in Philadelphia and became a Quaker. He founded one of the world\’s first anti-slavery societies, the Society for the Relief of Free Negroes Unlawfully Held in Bondage. He also founded the first public school for girls in North America and the Negro School at Philadelphia. This booklet was one of the first anti-slavery works published in the Colonies, and a copy of it found its way into George the Third\’s Royal Library. 35 pages.
