Wow! Recently someone asked me if I could reproduce an original Confederate Descriptive Book. They sent me scans of an original, and other than slight printing differences, the only difference on the inside of this book is the omission of U.S. on the roster pages. Other than that, the book is made to the standards as stated in paragraph 120 of the Regulations of the Army of the Confederate States, which states:120. The following books are allowed to each company: one descriptive book, one clothing book, one order book, one morning report book, each one quire, sixteen inches by ten. One page of the descriptive book will be appropriated to the list of officers; two to the non-commissioned officers; two to the register of men transferred; four to the register of men discharged; two to the register of deaths; four to register of deserters - the rest to the company description list. These books are made to the above standards. Hardbound.
